Trump administration ends the ability to register international students at Harvard University

The Trump administration has proposed to end the ability of Harvard to enroll international students and upgrade with the oldest universities in the United States.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem wrote on X that the government has revoked Harvard’s “Student and Exchange Visitor Program Certification” because of failure to comply with the law.

“Let it be a warning to all universities and academic institutions across the country,” she wrote.

University data shows that nearly 7,000 international students will enroll the institution in the last academic year, accounting for 27.2% of its student population.

Harvard did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
