Microsoft surprises fans with Rog Xbox Ally Handheld’s revelation

During Sunday’s Xbox Games showcase, Microsoft finally revealed its handheld in a partnership with Asus. ROG Xbox Ally will be available later this year and will be available in two variants.

The new portable console comes in two versions: Rog Xbox Ally and Xbox AllyX. The RogXbox Ally comes with an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. To add functionality, the ROG Xbox Ally X comes with Ryzen Z2 Extreme, 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Apart from the UI look and some specs, there is no other disclosure about the Rog Xbox Ally.

Rumors have been said to have been handheld from Microsoft for months. Due to the success of the steam deck, different hardware companies have released their own handheld gaming consoles such as the Lenovo Legion GO and the MSI Claw. It is speculated that the handheld will form a partnership with Asus, which will enable ROG Ally and implement the Xbox user interface and branding.

Another news during the revelation was confirmation that the Hollow Knight follow-up will be available when the Rog Xbox Ally is released.

Details about pricing and release dates were not disclosed during the show, but if the pricing is similar to those when ROG Ally launched, the price is expected to be around $600 and around the holidays later this year.
