Former Dallas Mavericks head coach Don Nelson accepted the Chuck Daily Lifetime Achievement Award before Game 2 of the NBA Finals Sunday.
Nelson, who has lived in Hawaii since leaving the game, sent a message to him to obtain the franchise he once led on the court.
During the press conference, Nelson made sure everyone in the building knew he was wearing Nike’s Luca Doncic’s new shoes.

Why? He believes the Mavericks and general manager Nico Harrison made a “huge mistake” to trade him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I want everyone to know I’m wearing Luca’s shoes, his Nike’s new shoes…I wear them to protest the Dallas deal,” Nelson told the crowd. “I think the Dallas franchise is a huge mistake. I want everyone to know that.”
Nelson is part of a Volkswagen group who believes Harrison has made a wrong move in trading Doncic to Los Angeles, one of the most shocking deals in memory anywhere in the professional sport recently.

Mavericks fans also let Harrison know this, as a group of fans held a fake funeral outside the American Airlines Center after the deal took place in February, while a group of fans even held a fake funeral at the American Airlines Center.
However, Dallas may have been released on bail after seeing them win the first pick in the NBA Draft Lottery. The Mavericks will probably ride Duke University’s Cooper Flagg later this month.

Despite this, Mavericks fans were unhappy to meet Doncic, who helped lead the team to the NBA finals last year and move out of the Western Conference.
Although the Lakers have not entered the in-depth NBA playoffs, Don Cic’s figures are similar to those of the Lakers compared to the Mavericks. In 28 games, he averaged 28.2 points per game (28.1 points in Dallas), averaging 8.1 points and 7.5 assists per game.
Nelson and many others have their opinions, but what has been done for the Mavericks now. Time will tell who won the deal.
