Houston shooting at least one dead and multiple injured

Police said at least one person was killed after a family barbecue broke out in Houston and the others were in critical condition Sunday.
Houston Police Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu said officials received a call from the shooting before 1 a.m. local time.
Minutes later, police arrived at the ongoing gunfire and multiple victims who were moved to Jack’s restaurant in a nearby box and were evaluated and transported to the hospital.
Chief Cantu said in a press conference early on Sunday morning that the shooting began at midnight when “uninvited guests” arrived at the family gathering. She said the uninvited man started shooting and residents returned fire after being asked to leave.
Chief Cantu said: “The person who did this came uninvited and was asked to leave and he started the gunfire incident.”
Police said at least 14 people were injured. Chief Cantu added that several of the injuries were in critical condition and surgery.
Police have not arrested the suspect and refused to disclose one. Chief Cantu said several people were detained “to obtain information.”
