Hotty missile hits near Tel Aviv airport

A missile launched by Yemen on Sunday hit the main terminal of central Israel at the international airport near Tel Aviv. The strike resulted in temporary suspension, but no reports of death.

The Israeli military said several efforts have been made to intercept the missile and the impact has been found in the Ben Gurion airport area. The military added that the episode is under review.

Israel’s emergency ambulance service said it is treating two people injured in the explosion and a third person who was injured while escaping.

Videos and images posted on social media showed people running to cover as the sirens cried, and smoke rose from an open area near Terminal 3.

A road near the airport appears to be covered with dirt and shrapnel.

The Israel Airport Authority said in a statement shortly before the missile attack that it planned to arrive or leave 422 international flights on Sunday. After the strike, airport authorities said flights were suspended under the agreement, but the airport is expected to start operations soon.

Iran-backed Houthi militia have been solidarity with Hamas in Gaza for Israel’s launch of missiles to Israel, resuming its launch after Israel ended a ceasefire in the mid-March war. The Israeli military managed to intercept most missiles, although missile debris often landed in Israel.
