The OURA ring is named after the smart ring. Other competitors have entered the field since the Kickstarter movement in 2015, but OURA remains the most popular option and is necessary. The latest iteration of the brand is the most comfortable, accurate and designed smart ring we’ve ever tested.

The ring contains red and infrared LEDs, a green and infrared LED, a motion tracking meter and a digital temperature monitor, which all together calculate your biometrics and render in the application. It has slim soft and rounded edges and looks like a classic band that blends directly into the closet but remains comfortable without digging or pinching your fingers. Unfortunately, OURA charges an extra fee for certain finishes (you will pay $150 more if you want gold instead of silver). After weeks of testing, my outa ring showed scratches on the daily outfit.

All sensors produce accurate data. I wore it at the same time with an Apple Watch. Its step count and heart rate are always in standard state. It also connects seamlessly with the Apple Watch. Tracking activity directly in the OURA app requires you to unplug your smartphone; however, when paired with the Apple Watch, I can start working out on the watch, and it will be uploaded to the OURA app automatically. And if I forget to start my workout, OURA recommends adding activity time to my logs.

While OURA is very good at providing snapshots of data quickly in the Today tab of the app, such as preparation scores calculated based on sleep, heart rate, and activity from the previous day, it also invests in long-term health data. Under the My Health tab, it calculates stress elasticity, cardiovascular age and capacity, and a deeper understanding of your overall health.

In addition to being compatible with the Apple Watch, it works with other apps, including leads and natural cycles, to provide insights on bike tracking.

The biggest drawback of OURA is the subscription it needs. you can Technically speaking There is no one with it, but it limits all the data you see. Without a subscription, you can only see your own preparation scores, sleep scores, and activities, and you won’t be able to get all the extra health insights.
