The Pixel 9a is Google’s entry point to the pixel ecosystem. Its secondary job pricing masks a phone that competes in many ways, and costs twice as much as a phone. It has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. We found it to be sharp, colorful, “one of the best monitors in this price range”.
It uses the same tensor G4 processor found in the more expensive Pixel 9 Brothers. The only performance tradeoff you will find is its 8GB RAM vs. 12GB in standard pixel 9. This can reveal yourself only in your heavy multitasking or gameplay. Given the price difference between IT and Pixel 9 is $300, it’s hard to get a lot of picky about it.
Google’s pixel lineup is known for its camera capabilities, and the 9A is no exception. It is paired with a 48MP main camera and is equipped with a 13MP ultra-wide lens. Although there is no telephoto, it can be compensated with AI-based Super Res Zoom, which can reach up to 8x digital zoom. The phone also has Google’s night vision for sharp, balanced low-light photography.
We found that the camera’s color accuracy, detail and low-light performance outperformed the $1,299 Galaxy S25 Ultra Ultra. It is also competitive with the S25U in ultra-wide lenses. Because of the better saturation of the color, the latter puts its edge edges (if only slightly). Still, we’re talking about a $800 pricing difference, so the fact that in the conversation is not a small achievement.
The only downside to the Pixel 9a is its low 8GB RAM, slow charging, and its lack of optical zoom and its plastic backing (rather than glass). But for $499 – essentially $399, if you use that gift card to buy, you still have to do it – it’s a great option. almost Flagship Android phones list our best smartphones.
