DN.J. Sen. Cory Booker accused President Donald Trump of urging Congress to pass the Democratic-supported Equality Act on Tuesday.
Booker delivered an emotional speech when he made a appearance on Capitol Hill with prominent Democrats from the House and Senate. His speech lasted for several minutes, borrowed from the language of Martin Luther King (Jr.).
“Equal Behavior is on the right side of history, and now we stand in the shadow of injustice. So, we introduce this bill again. But it’s not a normal moment for us to introduce this bill. We introduce this bill in the context of the president, his campaign, his chance bias here, in his campaign. We’re boarding a bias here. Injustice,” Booker said.
“I want you to know that we reintroduced the bill with attitude. We reintroduced this bill with a shaky tumbling. We rest assured on Tuesday’s bill because a lot of people are hearing us now and they don’t understand the people they are not involved.

The Equality Act will prohibit discrimination based on “gender, sexual orientation and gender identity.”
Booker joined D-Calif along with DN.Y.’s Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. and other members of parliament.

The legislative drive is because Trump’s administration urges an end to unwelcome diversity, equity and inclusion programs across the federal government.
The president’s efforts to end DEI throughout the federal government have also prompted the cancellation of such programs across the private sector.
Meta canceled its DEI program in January, just like McDonald’s. Walmart, Ford Motor Company, John Deere, Lowe’s and Toyota also ended the DEI program after the 2024 election.
