Escaped the Los Angeles County Reentry Plan Facility found in Las Vegas

A convicted robber, at least the ninth person to escape the re-entry of the California prisoner this year’s California prisoner, has been captured in Las Vegas.
Dijon Barber nearly two weeks after leaving the Los Angeles County Male Community Re-entry Program on April 12, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The barber was sentenced to four years in prison for robbery, theft/dependant adults and theft/missage of public funds.

The day before the barber escaped, Deshon Daniels was arrested in Los Angeles after leaving the reentering program.
CDCR, which oversees the prison program, was unable to comment on Saturday. Thousands of plans have completed the 10-year-old plan, part of a broader push by the state to go beyond punishment, restore incarcerated people and reduce recidivism.
Most of the people who escaped since January have been tracked.
On Friday, prison officials announced that the barber was arrested by the North Las Vegas Crime Arrest Team.
Any details about how the barber caused 250 miles away or what he did in Sin City, but officials said he was “detained for nothing.”
To consider re-entry plans, individuals must have no more than 32 months (and no less than 60 days) before the earliest release date. There are three facilities in Los Angeles County, with others in Fresno, Butte, Kern and San Diego counties. The state plans to expand the program, thus serving each county this summer.
“The purpose of the program is to help participants successfully re-enter the community from incarceration and contribute to reducing recidivism,” CDCR noted on its website.
The barber was booked in a Nevada prison and will be sent back to California, where officials say he will be placed in a CDCR facility. CDCR said his case was forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to consider the escape charge.
