Long Beach police were arrested for a disturbing incident of dog abuse captured in the video.
The video was recorded on Instagram on Monday and showed a man lifting the dog off the ground with a leash, then hit the animal and kicked it. in the 200 block of East 12th Street.
“The man in this video has seriously abused the poor puppy, no mercy and needs to be found as soon as possible.” The animal’s hope and health reads in the title. “We can only say that the man has a skateboard so other skaters in the area may be able to identify who this is.”
In a social media post Wednesday night, Long Beach police announced they had arrested a man in connection with the incident, but provided no details about him. Officials said the dog is caring for Long Beach animal care services.
“This cruelty has no place in our community,” Police Chief Wally Hebeish said in the Post. “I want to thank our detectives and officials for their excellent work in the rapid identification and arrest of suspects.”
