Nintendo Switch 2 Restock Alert: How to Track Availability

The hour is coming soon. It’s almost time to book the Nintendo Switch 2.

With most U.S. retailers will eventually push bookings at midnight ET on April 24, the priorities for most switch enthusiasts will certainly grab one in the first wave. But let’s resign collectively and make the Switch 2 sold out very likely.

Earlier today, Nintendo apologized for the interests of booking in Japan Distant More than available supplies. In Japan alone, Nintendo said 2.2 million people applied to book a Switch 2 from my Nintendo Store Lottery. Unfortunately, this is not a good sign for American gamers.

Why are Switch 2 pre-orders sold out?

If you don’t remember, the last time I released a big console on the PlayStation 5, the global supply shortage makes it nearly impossible to get a gaming console shortage unless you are very lucky. Now, to be fair, Covid-19 plays a big role in it, but it’s not like the Nintendo Switch 2 launching under ideal conditions, thanks to President Donald Trump’s tariffs and the escalating trade war with China. We asked the big retailers (Walmart, Best Buy, Target) how they plan to deal with Gougers who are eager to snap up potential prices for the Switch 2 supply, but have not heard back yet.

So if the retailer you choose can’t solve (and the option directly from the Nintendo will not be put into practice), You don’t need to panic. Inevitably more opportunities will be available to book the switch 2 and even buy one after release.

There is no explanation for what the Switch 2 purchase ecosystem will look like in the next few weeks; it may be difficult for you to grasp. But if you follow these tried-and-tested steps to track inventory online, you can put yourself in a better position to grab the Switch 2 when it’s sold out.

How to track switch 2 restock online

Warning: This is more like an art than a science. However, with these strategies, you can at least know when you can use the Switch 2 console (if nothing else).

Switch the retailer’s own 2 restockings

One very simple thing you can do is to immediately access the store pages of retailers like Walmart and GameStop before launching your reservation and register inventory alerts directly from the source. In particular, these two retailers have tips on the right side of the store page, and if you give them an email address, tell you when stock will be available.

I should point out that I had a few luck with this feature in the past. This may not be the most reliable way to track restocking, but it is one of the many options you have in your back pocket.

There are a variety of websites that track retail inventory in an easy to browse way. One such website is Restock Tracker, which lists the host model directly (regular or Mario Kart Bundle, in this case) at which retailer you can use. If you want to create an account, you can sign up for an email alert. I should note that I have never used this particular website myself before, as I tend to rely on social media for restocking alerts, but Looks Just like it should work for this purpose.

From a social media account

Speaking of social media, I found this (perhaps sadly) the easiest way to stay on which consoles are available. I know, I know – we all want to stop scrolling in our feed. But for Nintendo Switch gamers, you will have to do more.

Thankfully, there is an overall cottage industry out there, they meticulously track things like console sales and transactions and publish them to X and Bluesky. Jake Randall and Matt Swider on X, especially for Switch 2 purposes, should meet your needs and have thousands of followers if they are proven legitimacy in some way.

My personal favorite social media account is Wario64, which can be found on X and Bluesky. The account’s mysterious operators track various inventory alerts and transactions in most gaming worlds, but they also dabbled in technology and other popular culture things. If you want to open an account to find an account that restocks the Switch 2, the Wario64 will definitely be broader, but I also want to say that when I struggled to show up both consoles in 2020, I got the way to get both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. This is not one of the most important social media accounts of my life.

And, if all other methods fail, you can try smashing the refresh button at your preferred retailer when the booking for midnight tonight is online. Good luck.
