Columbia County Spring Fair offers new weekend rules for young visitors

If you are under 18, the only way to visit the Columbia County Spring Fair this weekend is to be with your parents.

“Because of the number of unattended young people who appeared to be intending to destroy the expo last Saturday, we believe these changes are necessary to provide a family-friendly atmosphere and a safe environment for all,” the Columbia County Businessmen Association said in a notice.

If you are 18 years old or older, be prepared to display your ID when the 5462 Columbia Rd enters the fair. Otherwise, from April 26 to 27, all guests aged 17 and under must be accompanied by their parents. A parent can bring up to four children.

According to the Citizen Club, visitors aged 11 to 17 must purchase tickets and bus tickets at the door.

Last November, the Businessmen Association adopted similar conditions to those of minors at the annual fall fair.

The expo rides, competitions, shows and attractions last until Sunday, April 27 at 10 p.m. The gates are open at 5pm on April 26 and April 27.
