German Foreign Ministry protests Berlin’s call for help from Gaza

Employees of the aid organization working in the Gaza Strip were presented before the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin, demanding that Israel respect international humanitarian law.

About 120 people attended the rally in the German capital on Wednesday.

Organizers called for a substantial increase in aid delivery for civilians in Gaza and ending attacks on medical facilities.

“We need a clear signal from Berlin to the Israeli government,” the coalition said in a statement.

“This is the only way to achieve the import of urgently needed goods and end the attacks on medical institutions, medical personnel and civilians,” the statement added.

Germany has been one of the main supporters of the Israeli government since October 7, 2023.

However, Friedrich Merz’s new administration has expressed fierce criticism of Israel’s actions this week, warning that Gaza’s civilian population is facing hunger due to the recent Israeli aid blockade.
