Pinterest warns kids not to use its app during school time

Pinterest is testing a new tip that warns children to get off during school hours. . A pop-up warning encourages minors in the U.S. and Canada to stop using the app and close notifications before the end of the day. “Focus is a beautiful thing,” the prompt says. “Stay in the moment by putting Pinterest down.”

This tip only appears between 13 and 17 years old and 3 pm during weekdays. It’s a massive test, so Pinterest said the prompt will reach “millions” of minors. The platform said it was the first technology company to build this “active” feature to help kids build healthy online habits. This may be true in the world of social media, but any avid Nintendo fan will remember the era of the Wii, DS and 3DS.
