These 3 iOS updates are larger than liquid glass

My iPhone has had more bounces, Warble and Bloop since the early developer beta preview downloaded for iOS 26. The design changes of Apple gadgets have been a hot topic on social media. The new operating system is adopting an interface style called Liquid Glass, which was revealed this week at a global developer conference that converts menus, applications and buttons into translucent jelly…with Spunk.
But if you can see the past’s clear icons, there are other updates on iOS 26 that are more important to our daily lives. Take a screenshot of a party invitation to put it in your calendar immediately. Maps can hint at route changes without you seeking directions for driving. Robots can intercept phone calls – or jump into conversations as live language translators.
In this week’s Another Things you can watch in the video embedded above, I poked some of the new features early on and shared my problems with how I performed when it was released to the public. Apple is still a few months away from finalizing the software, but maybe I’m curious about how people accept assistive tools (and whether they are accurate).
Or maybe we’ll be distracted by the clear elastic buttons and can’t be noticed.
