With the Easter holiday approaching, egg prices are still high.

According to the Consumer Price Index, egg prices rose 10.4% in March, while eggs rose 58.8% year-on-year.

While egg color is a multi-million dollar spring tradition nationwide, there are some creative alternative ideas for creative Easter eggs lately.

Here are some interesting food options to swap for eggs.

1. Potato

They are also easy to manipulate as they can be secured in place with a toothpick or string.

The Crowded Kitchen is a duo of mother and daughter cooking with 2 million followers on Instagram, which posted a video of Easter eggs of peanut butter that received over a million likes.

The recipe was posted on the crowded kitchen website and produced a beautiful batch of Robin Egg Blue desserts.

Simple mixtures include peanut butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, almond powder, vanilla extract and salt, followed by semi-cold variables.

The color coating is made with melted white chocolate and coconut oil, and spirulina and matcha are added as needed.

According to the recipe, these eggs are dipped in white chocolate paint and are spotted with pastry brushed with a mixture of cocoa powder and water.
