Cincinnati Reds pitcher Wade Miley was recently selected as one of Tyler Skaggs’ alleged drug suppliers before he died in 2019 due to overdose.
Skaggs’ former agent Ryan Hamill said in a testimony earlier this week that Skaggs told him he had been using painkillers containing oxycodone, which was provided by Miley.
The deposition is part of a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Skaggs family against his former Los Angeles angel. Skaggs and Miley were teammates of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012 and 2013.

Miley settled the matter briefly on Friday.
He began, “I hate what happened to Taylor. It’s sucking. My idea is with his family and friends.” “But I won’t sit here and talk about what someone might say to me. I’m never a witness.”

Miley, 38, has not faced criminal charges, and this is not the first time his name has been linked to Skaggs’ death. During the sentencing phase of the Kay case, prosecutors used recordings of conversations between Kay and his mother, who Kay said Miley was one of Skaggs’ drug suppliers.
Former New York Metropolitan Mets ace Matt Harvey admitted at Kay’s trial that he had supplied drugs to Skaggs. The two were the year Skaggs died and were teammates of the Angels.
Harvey, CJ Cron, Mike Morin and Cam Bedrosian also said in court that they had been supplied with drugs by Kay.
Harvey and three other players also testified that they received pills from Skaggs and described the recreational drug use they witnessed when they were angels.
Miley signed a one-year contract with the Reds on June 4 and started two games this season. He had Tommy John’s surgery on his left elbow in May 2024 and signed a minor league contract with Cincinnati in February.

Skaggs were found in a hotel room in Southlake, Texas, while the Angels were found before playing the Texas Rangers.
