Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez back to Earth – And then the Memes

Pop star Katy Perry may need to update the lyrics to her hit song Fireworks to “Baby, you’re an astronaut.” On Monday, Perry became one of the latest celebrity to visit the space. Writer and former journalist Lauren Sanchez is also part of Blue Origin’s successful NS-31 flight.
Aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, biological caramel research scientist Amanda Nguyễn, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and CBS host Gayle King (Oprah Winfrey’s Bestie) fill the roster of all-female passengers. Winfrey attended the press conference as an observer.
The crew rolled to the launch pad of the Livia electric truck and took the elevator to board the crew capsule. Bezos personally escorted them to the Rockets. The flight lasted about 11 minutes. Perry sang a wonderful world during the flight, despite the choppy audio that made it sometimes hard to hear these women during the live broadcast.
This is the first all-female space flight since 1963 Soviet astronaut Valentina Tereshkova’s historic Solo Space Flight. Tereshkova is the first woman in space.
Bezos panel, Wendy’s teasing Perry
Sanchez is the fiancee of Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and Blue Origin. He was waiting to say hello to the crew at the landing site, apparently stepping in a small hole and falling down almost landing on his face. Social media replays over and over again.
“Sorry, when I looked at Jeff Bezos’ breadboard a million times,” one X user wrote.
For some reason, the fast food chain Wendy’s is known for its witty tweets, aiming after Perry landed. The company sent a photo of Perry kissing the ground after returning to Earth, “I kissed the ground, I love it.” (Perry’s 2008 song “I Kiss a Girl” contains “I Kiss a Girl, I Love It.”)
Then, when another X user asked, “She was only there for 10 minutes, right?” Wendy’s account pair: “Don’t change her briefly for 11 minutes.”

Is the new Shepard reaching the space?

Blue Origin’s new Shepard is launched from Texas.
The debate on representative space is underway. For example, everyone agrees that the ISS is located in space, but rides like commercial rockets, such as blue origin operation, fall into the gray area. One benchmark is the Karman Line, an imaginary line that is 62 miles above the Earth’s surface.
NASA recognizes that “there is really no clear boundary between the end of Earth’s atmosphere and the beginning of outer space,” but most scientists recognize that the Karman Line is the transition point in space. So, unless you want to make a picky argument, Perry and the others made a brief visit during the flight.
After the spacecraft passed the karma line, women experienced weightlessness. The return trip involves a mild parachute assisting the landing.
This is the 11th human flight planned by the new Shepard. Blue Origin has previously flew 52 people into space, including Star Trek’s William Shatner, Good Morning America host Michael Strahan and Bezos.
