Pop star Katy Perry and journalists Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez (also the fiance of billionaire Jeff Bezos) exploded space on the Blue Origin Rocket on Monday.

The launch window opens at 9:30 a.m. ET, with historic staff rolling out on time from the company’s West Texas launch site.

The mission consists of the first all-female pilot in more than sixty years. Other crew members include astrophysicist Aisha Bowe, activist and biological anxiety researcher Amanda Nguyen, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn.

The blue origin, owned by Bezos, said in a statement released on February 27 that the new Shepard rocket is an 18-meter suborbital spacecraft that takes crew members to the Kármán line, the internationally recognized space border.

Passengers experienced a few minutes of microgravity before landing in the West Texas desert with parachute assist.

This is the 11th human flight of the Rocket and its overall 31st flight. The last recorded all-female space flight was the solo of 1963 Soviet astronaut Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space.
