Trump at UFC 314: Dominick Reyes pays tribute to the president after KO

UFC star Dominick Reyes quickly completed Nikita Krylov’s quick work in the lightweight match of UFC 314 on Saturday night and paid tribute to President Donald Trump.

With 2:39 left in the first round, Krilov leaned forward to jab Reyes. He leaned forward too far and was caught. Reyes hit him with his left side, and Krillov broke. He brought Krylov to the ground twice with a hammer before the referee came over and stopped the fight.

Reyes then ran to Trump, who sat with Dana White, Elon Musk and the others near the cage, pointed to the president and bowed.

This is Reyes’ third consecutive victory. He beat Dustin Jacoby last June and then defeated Anthony Smith in December. Prior to that, he was in a four-game losing streak, losing Jon Jones, Jan Brachovich, Giri Prochasaka and Ryan Span. After the battle, the mood was high.

“It sucks,” a tear-eyed Reyes said of his failure: “But my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, my faith in myself and my family, has taken me to root and kept me here. I am still fighting here. Everything happens in your life.

Trump walked out at UFC 314, shouting with the crowd roaring and shouting “America!”

Reyes said at a post-war press conference that it was a “dream come true” battle.

“I have to represent the United States in front of the president,” Reyes said through MMA Junkie. “He was taking root for me and then he told me how proud he was for me to represent this country. Since I was a little kid, I always wanted to see the president. It was always what I wanted, and I finally did it as an athlete and I would remember another night for the rest of my life.”

He was applauded in a loud way when the president entered the Kaseya Center.

“Some legends,” Trump said of the rant in the crowd. “It’s a legend. The honor of having this kind of applause is really because it says we’re doing well. If we don’t do well, we’re going to be the other way around.”
