East Germany leaders meet to discuss the future of the region

Prime Ministers of five eastern German states met in Berlin on Thursday to discuss the future of the region, which still lags behind former West Germany.

The February parliamentary elections also demonstrated a huge deviation from the far-right alternatives of German parties.

A paper published last month will serve as a basis for an investment in research, with less bureaucracy, lower energy costs and a “strong voice” for the former East German new federal government in Berlin.

The Eastern German Prime Ministers’ Meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Mario Voigt, Toulinya.

In addition to Thurinya, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Walpmein are also involved with the current German Eastern Commissioner Kasten Schneider.

Representatives from the business community also invited a meeting of Thurin-sponsored national representatives in Berlin, including Ralf-uwe Bauer’s Gera Eastern Thurin is being chaired by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

These five eastern countries were formerly part of East Germany, which merged with West Germany in 1990 and had a difficult transition on the rock from the communist command economy to the western market economy.

Voigt said in advance that eastern Germany has become a key business location and innovation center.

“Our goal is to set economic, infrastructure and social processes so that the East not only catches up, but leads the way,” Voigt explained.
