British woman prosecuted outside abortion buffer in the State Council monitors cases
The U.S. State Department announced this week that it is monitoring the case of a British woman who is being tried for providing counseling outside a UK abortion facility.

“Recently in the UK, DRL senior consultant Sam Samson met with Livia Tossici-Bolt, who faced criminal charges as they provide dialogue in a “buffer” within the abortion clinic that is legally prohibited. We are monitoring her case. This is important, and respect and protection of freedom in the UK are important,” the statement continued. ”

Her judgment will be awarded by Magistrate Orla Austin on Friday, April 4, according to Alliance Defunding Freeder (ADF) International, which supports the legal defense of Tossici-Bolt.
The law group said Tossici Bolt, 64, held a sign that read “If you want to talk here, if you want to talk near an abortion facility in Bournemouth, England,” when she was approached by local authorities.
She was told she had violated the local government’s Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), which created a 500-foot “buffer” around the facilities that provide abortion.
The law prohibits decisions that attempt to block access to these facilities or affect someone.

Tossici-Bolt thanked the State Department for its announcement and called on its government to protect freedom of expression.
“I thank the U.S. State Department for paying attention to my case. Britain should be a free country, but I just delayed a voluntary dialogue through the court. I thank ADF International for supporting my legal defense,” she said in a statement. “The expression of peace is a fundamental right – it should not be criminalized to be a harmless offer.”
She added: “It is tragic to see the increase in censorship in this country make the United States feel that it must remind us of our shared values and fundamental civil liberties.”
In February, another case of a breach of abortion buffer against the British caught the attention of Vice President JD Vance.

British veteran Adam Smith-Connor was found guilty in October of violating an abortion buffer as he stood outside an abortion facility and prayed silently in his head. He was ordered to pay £9,000 (or nearly $12,000) to the prosecution.

ADF International represents several Christians in the UK who face charges for praying in the abortion buffer.
ADF International said the Tossici-Bolt ruling will be made by the same judge who handled the Smith-Connor case on Friday.
