Every new feature in Switch 2 Joy-Cons and Pro Controller

Nintendo’s next console, The Switch 2, will start at $450 on June 5. The console is roughly the same in appearance, but both the system and the controller have been greatly improved.

The Switch 2 will have new Joy-Cons and a new Pro controller. Both have new features, unlike the original switch version, and are expensive.

Joy-Con 2

The Joy-Con 2, the new controller of the Switch 2, looks a lot like the original Joy-Con in the first switch, but there are some slight differences in appearance and a large new feature.

First, the new Joy-Cons are magnetic, rather than having tracks to slide on and off the console. Now, the magnet lets Joy-Con capture the side. These are powerful magnets, but there is a release button to get out quickly. HD Rumble 2 can also improve Rumble functionality. This feature will provide the game with a more complex rumble mode.

The simulation stick is bigger and has more players with big thumbs up. The L and R buttons are longer, while the SL and SR buttons are larger in size.

The wristband will be used for the Joy-Con 2. While using the motion controls, the belt buckles the Joy-Con to secure it to your hands.

The biggest new feature of Joy-Con 2 is the mouse controls. Each can be placed on a flat surface and run like a computer mouse. It can still execute motion controls when using Joy-Con 2 as the mouse.

Switch 2 Pro Controller

Pro Controllers are sold separately and designed more traditionally, similar to controllers on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. According to the Q&A of the team that created the Switch 2, the Pro controller was built from scratch.

Some changes to the Switch 2 Pro controller are subtle, such as the simulation rod is quieter and smoother, which the team calls it a “smooth slide rod.” Professionals have thinner grip handles that provide more space for your fingers.

An interesting change is the inclusion of the audio jack. Players can now plug in their headphones to avoid disturbing others during matches.

The Switch 2 Pro Controller will also find two extra buttons on the Joy-Con 2. Whether it is an important game command or using a button as a capture button, new GL and GR buttons can be assigned to any button input for any button input, so the player does not have to remove his thumb from the analog stick.

Joy-Cons 2 and Pro Controller will also provide a new C button for GameChat. This allows up to 12 players to communicate with each other, which is upgraded from the original switch, which does not have this option and requires a telephone app for voice chat. GameChat also allows sharing screen sharing with groups and selling cameras separately for video chat.

The Switch 2 includes a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, but it can also be used for $90. The Switch 2 Pro controller will be available as an add-on for $80. Both will be launched on June 5 with Switch 2.
