Driver died after colliding with Pacoma fire truck

A man was killed in a car accident Sunday morning when he turned a fire truck at an intersection in Pacoma.

A Los Angeles City Fire Department fire engine was heading south on San Fernando Road around 10:45 a.m. when a Toyota Corolla turned left from Terra Bella Street in front of the fire truck, the sergeant said. Jodie McGee with the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Transportation Department.

“There was a collision,” McGee said. “The driver of the vehicle, Toyota Corolla, was sent to the Holy Cross, where he was announced.”

McGee said the firefighters in the engine were shaken but were not injured.

LAPD is handling the investigation into the incident. Police are still trying to identify the victim, McGee said he did not carry proof of identity. He is the only one on the flower crown.
