U.S. warns of possible attacks in Syria during Eid holiday

The United States warns that the possibility of Syrian attacks during the Eid holiday marks the end of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr may begin in Syria on Sunday, depending on the discovery of a new moon.
Syrian authorities said they have detained several radical cells over the past few weeks, and they allegedly plan to launch attacks in parts of the country.
As the rebellious group was led by Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) President Bashar Assad was cancelled Safety conditions remain tense since the beginning of December. The U.S. State Department said in a travel warning that the possible attacks could target embassies, international organizations and Syrian public agency Damascus.
The Islamic State Group was mostly defeated in Syria in 2019, but there are still sleeper cells claiming responsibility for the attack, mainly in the Northeast, controlled by U.S.-backed Kurdish-led fighter jets.
