Powered by the GT-R’s S20 engine, only the 1970 Datsun Fairlady Z432 recovered in Japan, will be auctioned in the UK.

The rare 1970 Datsun Fairlady Z432, powered by Legendary S20 Inline Six from the early Skyline GT-R, will span the UK auction blocks through iconic auction servicers, with an estimated sale price of between £120,000 and £140,000 (159,000-159,000-$186,000).

The Fairlady Z432 is the Japanese exclusive version of the Japanese Z series and is one of the most coveted models among Japanese performance car collectors. Only 420 units were built, all of which were used in the domestic market, with only a small amount of exports.

Unlike the standard Datsun 240Z powered by a larger position L24 engine, the Z432 is equipped with a 2.0-liter DOHC S20 engine, which was originally developed for the “Hakosuka” Nissan Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R. The tricarbon fiber powerplant was up to 7,000 rpm at 160 horsepower, which gave the lighter Z chassis an excellent power-to-weight ratio in its era. The “Z432” name reflects four valves per cylinder, three Mikuni carburetors and two camshafts.

This special Z432 was imported to the UK in 2018 after restoration in Japan and finished in its correct yellow color. A mechanical update totaling £7,000 was recently conducted to ensure roads are ready. Subtle modifications such as the roll cage mount and wider rear arch indicate that it may have passed the race car – potentially increasing demand for collectors.

As the DATSUN Z series gains further appreciation worldwide, early and rare examples like the Z432 continue to attract top valuations. The combination of its performance lineage, limited production and historical relevance makes this car an outstanding product in the international auction industry.
