According to a freely deleted post on the Best Buy Canada blog, bookings for the Nintendo Switch 2 will begin April 2, with the upcoming Nintendo Direct Rivestream.
“Pre-booking for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be open on April 2 at Best Buy, Canada, giving you a chance to protect your console as early as possible,” an archived version of the March 27 post, which links to a live page where shoppers can register for a reservation News Alert (H/T IGN). The post does not mention the price or release date of Switch 2, nor does it specify the time to book.

Nintendo may confirm these details in a direct case next week; the company has not shared any Switch 2 reservation information itself. The stream will start April 2 at 9 a.m./6 p.m. ET and air on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.

Nintendo first announced the Switch 2 in mid-January, showing off a larger display, improved stand and some magnetically connected Joy-Con that looks like a computer mouse. The first trailer also laughed at a new one Mario Kart Game, this is the first since 2017 (or 2014, if you don’t count Mario Kart 8‘ luxury reissue).
Thursday’s leak coincided directly with an unrelated direct, during which time Nintendo announced more than a dozen upcoming Switch games, a new mobile app, and a new “virtual game card” feature that allows Switch owners to share games.
