Trump says he’s not kidding on the third term of presidency
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Public President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he was not joking about seeking a third presidential term, which was prohibited by the U.S. Constitution, but it was too early to consider doing so.
Trump, who took office on Jan. 20 for his second non-consecutive White House term, vaguely allegorized to seek a third term, but addressed this directly in a phone interview with NBC News on Sunday.
Trump said: “No, I’m not kidding. I’m not kidding.
“As you know, there are ways to do it,” he said, refusing to elaborate on any particular method.
Under the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. president has been in a row or discontinued for two consecutive years.
