Shortly after celebrating the bomb attack, Trump officials suffered a tragic defeat at the secret Margrago dinner
Not long after senior Trump administration officials discussed and celebrated Yemen’s bombing in an encrypted group chat, it was unknown to them, including the Atlantic editor-in-chief, part of the group was part of a feast at a beautiful, secret dinner that included a president, and guests were asked to pay $1 million to enjoy the seat.
This date is Saturday, March 15th. President Donald Trump attended a “candlelight” dinner at his Margrago estate that was not on his public calendar. On the lawn outside, luxury cars are on display: a Rolls Royce parked near Bugatti and Lamborghini. Guests stroll around, taking pictures and vehicles with each other. Earlier that day, the United States bombed Yemen, aiming at the Houthi leadership. At least 53 people, including children, were killed.
According to photos and videos viewed by Wired, Trump attended the Air Force One event with Elon Musk and Musk’s four-year-old son X. Musk maintained close ties with Trump throughout the weekend, with at least one Presidential Brain Trust participating in a signaling group chat where the plan was highly sensitive to the details of the plan. Experts say the dialogue appears to be violating the government’s agreement on information sharing.
Participants in the candlelight dinner included National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, according to sources familiar with the events. In the photo of the next day, Secretary of State Marco Rubio also attended Mar-a-Lago on the weekend.
Details of the Signal Group’s tragic defeat emerged because in the days before the bombing, Michael Waltz’s name was accidentally added to Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, titled “Houthi PC Small Group.” (He may intend to add to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, who is the same abbreviation.) In a bombshell story, the Atlantic reported written discussions about the bombing of Yemen. Waltz, Rubio and Miller appear to be in the signal group, and are actively interacting with chats before the explosion, according to news reports from Goldberg. Some group members appear only in abbreviations.
The day before dinner, officials discussed whether bombing should be carried out because of the potential economic impact of the air strikes, among other things. Vice President JD Vance, who also appears to be in the signal chat, told the group that he believes the air strikes were “mistakes.”
Miller, previously reported wired reports, was called “PM” within the Trump world, abbreviation for the prime minister, effectively shutting down Vance’s attention, according to the Atlantic report. According to The Atlantic, “As I heard, the president is clear: the green light,” Miller’s abbreviation wrote in the chat. Saturday, 1:48, Waltz account, and then others sent messages to the group. “Great job,” Waltz wrote. “A good start,” the account of CIA director John Ratcliffe. A person who met “Mar” in a chat, identified by the Atlantic Ocean as “Marco Antonio Rubio” and said “Good job Pete and your team!!” Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Then Waltz replied: “Mar’s team is doing well, too,” referring to the team at Mar-A-Lago, which includes Miller, Waltz and Rubio. Trump’s team has long used shorthand Mal to refer to Mar-A-Lago.
