Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to Washington, D.C. to visit the president.
Head coach Ryan Day confirmed Monday that his team will visit Donald Trump at the White House next month in honor of their national championship.
“It’s an honor. We’re formally invited. It’s a habit. I remember growing up watching the national championship team go to the White House…it’s part of our team’s celebration,” Day told reporters Monday.

The Buckeyes will head to the White House on April 14, two weeks before Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles attended.
The Buckeyes had a roller coaster season, starting at 10-1, and then hosted the then-wrenching champion Michigan, who struggled all season. However, the Wolverines eliminated their frustration due to the three-touch loser.
This prompted many to call on Day’s work again, as this is their fourth consecutive loss to Michigan.

But the Buckeyes ran the table in the new 12 team playoffs and eventually defeated Notre Dame to fight the Irish, becoming the eighth seed in the game.
The Florida Panthers recently visited the president to celebrate their Stanley Cup victory that began last summer.
Trump also recently said that he wants to come to the Super Bowl from the 2019 season (2020 Super Bowl). The last team of professionals’ champions visited Trump during their first presidency Washington Nationals in 2019Five days after defeating the Houston Astros (despite Sean Doolittle’s criticism of the president). Joe Biden took office, and the pandemic’s visit was even harder in 2020, when restrictions began.
