German woman stepped forward and asked for 15,000 euros in cash on train
A German woman stepped forward to ask for €15,000 ($16,250) of cash found by passengers on the train, police said Tuesday.
The transport of 75 euros bills was found on a high-speed ice train from Hannover to Munich on Sunday, making headlines in Germany.
A 34-year-old woman from the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein contacted the police and said the money was her story, federal police said.
She had previously used cash to buy a car and had previously reported that her wallet was stolen in a hamburger.
She gave an accurate description of the officers of pink purses adorned with princesses in which money was found on the train.
Police said the 33-year-old woman reminded police that the discovery would charge the discoverer for the discoverer.
