Hollywood jab Trump celebrates Conan O’Brien and Kennedy Center

Members of Hollywood gathered in Washington, D.C. on Sunday in Washington, D.C. to receive Mark Twain’s American Humor Award in honor of TV host and comedian Conan O’Brien, weeks after Trump announced changes to the structure of the Kennedy Center.
Trump removed the Kennedy Center from the Kennedy Center in February and is now chairman of the board of directors. New members of the Kennedy Center board include Second Lady Usha Vance, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino.
Comedian Sarah Silverman has targeted Trump several times during Sunday’s Mark Twain event, especially Conan on TBS’s appearance at Conan, where she dressed up as Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
“They wrote some articles and Conan interviewed Hitler because he was embarrassed to compare with Donald Trump,” Silverman said.
“I wasn’t an obvious choice for Hitler. I mean, I was an obvious choice for Hitler,” said Silverman, Jewish. “Playing Hitler wasn’t an obvious choice. But they chose me, and this way of thinking made Conan great again. I really missed the days when you were the only orange A-Hole in America.”

Conan O’Brien participated in an interview after attending the 25th annual Mark American Humor award at the Kennedy Center for Centres of Washington on Sunday at the Kennedy Center for Centres of Washington.
Silverman also recalled when she took a side photo of O’Brien’s mouth and put the image between phones during her 2012 appearance during Conan, prompting TBS to review the image because it resembles the female genitals. She then instructs the audience to watch in the seat, where they will find a copy of the image of O’Brien’s mouth.
“When you go, you can move on and leave these photos in your seat – the takeover guy who likes to catch cats,” Silverman said, referring to leaked Hollywood videos, where Trump boasted about kissing and groping women because of his reputation.
The video was originally filmed in 2005 and leaked ahead of the 2016 election.
Silverman isn’t the only comedian to make fun of in Washington at the ceremony. John Mulaney also directly mentioned a major adjustment to Trump’s Kennedy Center, joked that the president would rename Roy Cohn, chief adviser to Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy, who supported Wisconsin senators to investigate suspicious communists. Cohen also had links with Trump and worked as Trump’s lawyer in the 1970s and 1980s.
“It’s an honor to be here at the Kennedy Center, or Roy Cohn Pavilion is known next week as a big, strong man who loves cats,” Mullani said.
Comedian Will Ferrell, who previously won the Mark Twain American Humor Award in 2011, also poked a stimulus on Trump’s executive order on Thursday to subvert the Department of Education.
“I don’t have time to come. Do you know what I should do now?” Ferrer said. “Do you have any ideas? I should close the Ministry of Education.”
Comedian Nikki Glaser, who hosted the Golden Globes in January, told reporters on the red carpet that not addressing Trump’s makeover at the event was “crazy”, while remembering the purpose of the night was to celebrate O’Brien.

Nikki Glaser participated in an interview after receiving the 25th annual Mark Twain Awards on Sunday to celebrate Conan O’Brien.
“I don’t think it’s crazy to fix the big like in the room. It’s crazy on comedy, don’t do it because it’s there.”
Glaser said the current political climate provides comedians with the opportunity to seize the “moment of rebellion.”
“Just say anything about it, it’s a simple laugh, but you can say something, there’s a little rebellious moment, it’s always fun to have a bit of a rebellious moment,” Glaser told reporters on the red carpet. “But I’m not going to make a meal…that’s not that.”
Glaser also told reporters that she didn’t want to discuss politics before because she didn’t want to alienate any audience, and she now prefers to do so, but she is worried about death threats and is troubled.
O’Brien also addressed the Kennedy Center’s reorganization and thanked former Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter and chairman David Rubenstein and other staff members for “worrying about what will bring in the future.”
“Thanks to those who invited me a few months ago: Deborah Rutter and David Rubenstein,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien also paid tribute to writer Mark Twain, the award named after a name that claims “Twain is the best patriot in the world.”

O’Brien, who hosted the Oscar this month and plans to host the event next year, told reporters on the red carpet that the material for his award next year will depend on current events and that the idea of content is always changing what leads to such events.
“I can’t tell you again what the Oscars are going to be done next year’s nine months later,” O’Brien said.
Other comedians who won the Mark Twain Humor Award include Ferrell, Tina Fey, Dave Chappelle, Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Sandler and Kevin Hart.
