Google says technical issues have caused some users to delete map schedule data
After weeks of reporting by some Google Maps users, their schedule has been erased from all the places they visited, such as 9to5google Earlier this month, Google confirmed that some users’ data had been deleted and in some cases it could not be recovered. In a statement “We briefly encountered a technical issue that caused some people to delete schedule data,” said Genevieve Park, a Google spokesman. The statement said that only users whose backups are open can recover their schedules.
Google’s recent data, by default, does not appear to be backed up. To enable them, you have to go to the schedule in the MAPS application and update the settings from the cloud icon there. The event has cost some users many years of location history. While some people who enabled backups before the issue said they were able to restore schedule data, others said they could not recover them all even after importing backups.
