Congressman talks about the price he pays

It’s a child’s painting – the sweet, simple sketch that hangs on the fridge – but something about the family portrait has been closed.

There was no line up for the Highlands and adults to next spring, so Eric Swarwell asked his daughter: “Who are these people?”

The kindergarten replied: “That’s Mr. Daly.” The bodyguard has grown to be 6 years old and she now considers him part of the Swalwell family.

Sadly, it’s scary that this is the country we as a nation avenges the fist of President Donald Trump and his vicious boxer Elon Musk: Where protection is needed, because vocal political opposition can lead to physical harm.

This not only distorts the views of Swalwell’s middle child, but also silences and surrenders to some of his fellow lawyers (elected as allegedly advised, agreeable and best judgement). Swalwell privately heard some of his Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill.

He once thought their greatest fear was a difficult major challenge, and the possibility of losing reelection – the Gospel of Heaven. But, no, he said, it’s deeper and more primitive than that. They are afraid of personal revenge and possible violence.

“Their spouse told them, ‘Don’t do that. Don’t be the tallest poppy in the field, because when you do this to your family, everything will become more uncomfortable. Go to church, go to country clubs. Your kids will be harassed at school,” Swalwell said. “They don’t care about losing their jobs. They just don’t want to be timid with their families.”

Over the past twelve years, the 44-year-old former criminal prosecutor has represented a medium-wealthy restaurant in the suburbs of East Bay (Fremont, Livermore, Pleasanton). He proposed a new bid for the president in 2019, a signal moment initiated in the early debate, when he recalled the challenge of Swarwell himself as a child’s first campaign in 1988.

At the time, the 40s Biden (Swalwell) frankly suggested that at the time he said it was time for Democratic elders to “pass the torch to a new generation of Americans.”

“He is still right today,” Swarwell said.

Biden replied: “I still hold that torch.” The rest is, you know what’s going on.

Don’t be too surprised if Swalwell tries to the White House again in 2028.

Meanwhile, he is working to assemble Democrats before next year’s midterm elections and continue pushing back against Trump and Musk, all under protective observations – almost entirely paying campaign funds, not taxpayers’ money.

Compared to many in the California Congressional delegation, Svewell was a centrist who won the lasting hatred of the president and his followers during the first Trump administration, when Congressmen were a relentless critic on social media and cable TV tours. He took the house rave to the meeting on January 6, 2021 and served as one of nine impeachment managers, holding the mob that Trump incited to occupy the Capitol that day.

Judging from Svewell’s account, he has spent more than $1 million in personal safety over the past few years. This is the basis for other additional expenses: enhanced security systems in his home, necessary use of metal detectors at the town hall meetings, and appear in other legislators’ areas.

He received numerous death threats to himself and his family. His body costed. A suspicious package only arrives at his home every month. “It’s worrying because it shows that they know where you live,” Svewell said.

Two years ago, on a family trip in the Midwest, a MP and his son were deliberately sneezed at a Chipotle restaurant.

He tries to protect his children from politics and the ruthless passions of the present. “I don’t want to poison his mind and make him worry about something a little kid doesn’t have to worry about,” Swal said of his eldest son who is now 7 years old. “That’s a weird guy.”

However, reality can’t help but affect daily life. Legislators’ children are no longer allowed to play outside their front yard. Too many risks.

Anyone big enough is in the Clinton administration, George W. But taking Acrid as an example of a qualitative difference in a malignant, bad breath, scored president.

Unfortunately, “there is increasing belief that the means of political power can be achieved through violence or threats of violence, transparent Svalwell said.

He was already a little tired and had been living under constant threats for a while. “The alternative hidden under the bed is not really productive,” Svalwell said.

But not everyone in his family is ready to shrug and get out of danger.

Svewell recently spoke about his conversation with his father during lunch in his area.

Although members of Congress have close and loving relationships with their parents, despite their affectionate emotions. (“Since the appearance in 2016, we have a rule that our family has a lot of red hats on Thanksgiving. My mom said, ‘No more hats.’”)

After seeing him repeatedly attacking Fox News, Swal’s father called him and asked, “‘Can’t you just lie down and stop talking about this person? …I’m really worried something will happen to your child.'”

Swal bit his chicken pita. He told his father that he was a police chief in a small town in Iowa and that he refused Brook’s tyranny because he stood on the local good boy network.

That’s why his family moved westward and eventually settled in Northern California, Svewell said. “I told him, ‘Dad, everything, all my ways, are I learned from you.’ Transparent

This is an example of what his own child might one day appreciate.
