Israel meets Hezbollah goal in southern Lebanon
The Israeli military said on Saturday it was attacking Iran-backed Hezbollah militias in southern Lebanon.
The statement was published on the military’s telegram channel, minutes after media reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz attacked “dozens of terrorist targets.”
The strikes were in response to Lebanon-guided missile strikes to Northern Israel earlier Saturday, the statement said.
The Israeli military earlier said it had intercepted three projectiles targeting the border town of Mira without reports of injuries or damage.
Despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, it has been in place since November and the shelling is still there.
The military said Israeli forces had any orders ready,” adding that further details will be announced soon.
