March Madness: McNice State almost beats a huge lead, but is excited

McNeese’s frustration with Clemson No. 5 has been early… until it’s not.

The No. 12-seed Cowboys dominated Clemson for most of Thursday’s games, leading up to 24 in the second half, but they only beaten with a 69-67 victory.

Clemson couldn’t find the bottom of the rim in the first half, holding 13 and 15 from the 3-pointer. As for McNice, they improved by 31 in the first 20 minutes and led 40-16 in about five minutes in the second half.

A 3-pointer from Brandon Murray gave McNeese a 51-29 lead with a 8-07 record, but the Tigers were fully credited for not resigning.

Since then, McNice has become cold and Clemson has become hot. Clemson played 38-18 to finish the game. McNice even had less than a minute left to lead 12, but Clemson knocked out four 3-pointers in a row, making it a three-pointer for only 12 seconds.

With just 10 seconds left, Javohn Garcis entered the game and took one of two free throws to make it a four-pointer. The three-pointer streak ended, and the clock expired after layup, turning the blowout into an exciting thriller.

Tensions are getting higher and higher in March Crazy Game

This is the first big sadness in the game. Creighton ranked 9th, beating Louisville’s No. 8 earlier in the day, but predicting those predictions is much easier than over 12 seconds in the 5s.

McNeese won his first ever win in the tournament, and the next step was Purdue’s fourth-place finish, although the latter made things interesting earlier.

McNeese made headlines Wednesday when reports said their head coach Clemson alumnus Will Will Will Will Will Will agree to a deal to become the next head coach at North Carolina State at the end of the season.

Wade admitted he spoke with North Carolina state officials earlier Wednesday, noting that he was transparent with players about potential moves.
