Illinois lawmakers call for Trump to pull school funds for suspected illegal acts

Rep. Mary Miller, R-ill. A mother claimed her daughter and other students were forced to change in front of a trans student in the women’s locker room, and President Donald Trump “collects all federal funds” from a district in the state.

Miller posted a message on social media Tuesday saying the allegation was a “serious violation” of young girls’ privacy and Trump “Get men out of women’s sports” Executive orders effectively prohibit transgender participation in women and women’s movements.

“Forcing young girls to undress in front of biological men is not only perverted – it is a serious violation of their privacy, while President Trump’s executive order protects girls in a space where women are only women,” Miller’s post reads.

“I urge President Trump to get all federal funds right away from the Deerfield School District! I stand firmly with the bold and brave Illinois mother Nicole Georgas to defend our daughter’s rights.”

Miller’s position came nearly a week after Georges spoke at the Board of Education meeting. Deerfield Public School District 109. During the speech, she accused her daughter of her school administrators of trying to force her 13-year-old daughter and others to change in front of trans students in the girls’ locker room as the girls had previously protested to switch to uniforms in sports classes.

“The girls want their locker room and bathroom back. They want their privacy back. That’s why I’m here tonight. My 13-year-old daughter’s happiness, mental health and privacy are under threat.”

Georgas explained that her daughter first complained in early February that she was using the women’s bathroom while trans students were still using the facility. She said the government later explained: “Students can use the bathroom as well as the women’s locker room because they now consider it as women.”

The issue escalated a few days later when Georges’ daughter refused to change in front of trans students in the women’s locker room. Other students followed her protests, but that was when Georges claimed that school administrators were involved.

“That day, [Assistant Superintendent for Student Services] Joanna Ford, [Assistant Principal] Cathy Van Treese and several teachers entered the girls’ locker room, turning them into uniforms. This was going on for the entire week, she said, adding that her daughter still “refuses to attend.”

Georges said she filed a civil rights complaint with the Justice Department last month.

But, in a statement to Fox News figures, Deerfield Public School District 109 said no students changed or needed any student changes in front of others in the locker room, adding that the school’s policies do align with state laws.

“District 109 is committed to providing a learning environment in which all students and staff are respected and supported. Our policies and procedures, including student use of locker rooms, are consistent with state laws, Illinois school regulations and Illinois Board of Education guidance.

“There is no need for students to change to gym uniforms for physical education classes in front of others in the locker room. All students in all middle schools have a variety of options to make changes in private locations.”

The Trump administration has focused on several states accused of violating executive orders. Most notably, Trump and Maine Gov. Janet Mills were sent publicly on federal funding.
