“Clean Man” tops the New York Times bestseller list
It seems that Meta’s campaign to bury an all-round memoir of a former employee is not entirely effective. In fact, it seems that the company’s legal exercises that blocked the book’s expected effect was completely opposite.
Careless person Already in New York Times Bestseller list. It also took most of the week to be third on Amazon. Despite the fact that Sarah Wynn-Williams, former policy director at Facebook, has been discussing the book publicly after promoting or publicly discussing Meta’s legal action.
The memoir details much of Facebook’s internal operations in the past seven years. Wynn-Williams works there. It reveals the company’s relentless attitude to bring social networks to China, and how Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg and other executives show up behind the closed side. (In addition to her revelation Careless personWynn-Williams also filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The complaint has not been made public, but according to NBC Newsshe claims Facebook “misleads” investors.
Meta made a strong performance against Wynn-Williams and the book, describing it in a statement as “outdated, previously reported claims about the company and false allegations against our executives.” The company said Wynn-Williams was fired in 2017, “substant performance and toxic behavior.”
Meta filed an arbitration process against Wynn-Williams last week and decided to now prevent her from discussing publicly or facilitating the work. However, as the bestseller list shows, the move did not kill interest in work.
