College Basketball: Creighton-Uconn Big East semifinal ends in a melee

Mood was high on Friday night at Madison Square Garden, Creighton advanced to the Big East finals in two defending UConn.
The Blue Jays are winning and are able to kick the ball out in the last few seconds.
With the second-seeded Blue Jays leading 69-62, they had less than 10 seconds of defensive rebound left, and Eskimos coach Dan Hurley signaled his team to run out without any foul.

However, Jamiya Neal stood out on the left sideline, with 1.5 seconds left, hanging on the edge tilting. Neil waved his arms and fired Creton fans among the sold-out crowd after a skirmish with Dirra.
Eskimo defender Hassan Diarra pushed Neal to his chest and leveled his fist for a second as the two faced each other.
Ryan Kalkbrenner, the Creighton Center, played the players from the bench at Madison Square Garden by pushing Neal away as the whistle blew.
Orders recovered quickly, but emotions remained nervous after the game.
“I mean, they’re seven seconds left,” Dilra said. “He didn’t want to dribble the ball. Going to a fancy dunk. I just think it’s disrespectful to the basketball game.”

Neil admits that he is “into the mood of the game” and apologizes.
Hurley and Blue Jays coach Greg McDermott have approached each other along the sideline, shaking hands as Neal takes off to dunk. McDermott then immediately apologized to Hurley, and once again at the end of the game.
Creighton and UConn have already eaten beef this year. Hurley mocked Creton fans after the Eskimos took home victory, bid farewell to the crowd, and shouted “Two rings!”.
Last year, Hurley also threatened to “eliminate” Creton’s fans.
