Overnight, a lunar eclipse can be seen in the United States, so some people may want to pull a night to enjoy the rare celestial events, also known as the “Blood Moon.”
According to NASA, the moon will enter the shadow of the earth and create a lunar eclipse for the first time since November 2022. The moon will turn into a deep rusty red throughout the whole for more than hours, creating a vibrant visual effect in the night sky.
NASA said anyone who missed the Blood Moon would have to wait for a while because it wouldn’t be possible to see another lunar eclipse in the United States until March 3, 2026.
As natural satellites naturally turn red tones when covered by the shadows of the earth, a total lunar eclipse is often called the “blood moon”.

People in North America, South America, Europe and western Africa will be able to view the full solar eclipse of the lunar eclipse overnight on Friday.
Technically, the process will begin before midnight, but the visuals may not be fully present until after 1 a.m. Friday. NASA said that was when the “real action began” and the effect gradually became more obvious over the next two hours or so.

How long will the overall last?
According to NASA, the total phase is expected to last about 65 minutes when the shadow of the earth completely covers the moon.
Overall, it usually takes three hours and 38 minutes to be in front of the moon, during which natural satellites will enter the Earth’s half body, lighter outer shadows and mombra, center and deepest part of the shadow.
Which states will have the best views of “Blood Moon”?
According to the National Weather Service forecast, many consecutive U.S. states may have some clouds interfere with their perception of solar eclipse. Clouds expect to cover much of the West Coast, Rocky Mountains and Northern Plains states.
When will the next lunar eclipse happen?
While most people may wish to seize the upcoming lunar eclipse, those who won’t have more opportunities as the astronomical alignment will improve in the coming years. According to NASA, there will be 14 lunar eclipses from 2025 to 2030, nine of which will be visible in the United States.
