Patrick Mahomes enters the 2025 season with another new backup quarterback.

He started the first five games of the season, but after 2-3, head coach Antonio Pierce played for Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers with his backup Aidan O’Connell.

Minshew started in Week 8 as the raiders worked hard to win. Then, in Week 12, Minshew broke a clavicle and knocked him down for the rest of the season, with the quarterback’s duty in O’Connell’s hands.

Minshew finished 2-8 in 10 games he played, with 2-8 and 2,013 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

However, Minshew has had a better past season, including the 2023 Pro Bowl year with the Indianapolis Colts. He hit his 13-career-high 3,305 yards in 13 games with rookie Anthony Richardson, and scored 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
