Missing Sudiksha Konanki: ret. FBI agents identify “critical” steps

A retired FBI agent shared his analysis that investigators may be looking for a missing American college student who disappeared from a beach in the Dominican Republic.
“The FBI cannot accept this investigation, but will use diplomatic channels to push Dominican authorities to prioritize critical investigative steps, provide forensic assistance and coordinate intelligence sharing that may find new clues,” Jason Pack told Fox News Digital.
PACK, a retired FBI oversight agent, a former leader and proxy legal annex to the FBI’s rapid deployment team for kidnapping children, explains how U.S. authorities work behind the scenes to assist in the search for Sudiksha Konanki, 20, University of Pittsburgh, students disappeared on a beach in the early March morning.
“Authors should cross-reference surveillance footage along with telephone data and bank transactions to determine her last known action,” Pack said. “They should also use cognitive interview technology on the primary witness to detect inconsistencies rather than accepting surface-level statements.”

Pack added that “critical investigative steps” are now needed, and the important role the FBI’s behavioral analysis unit (BAU) and forensic experts should play.
“The BAU can help outline possible suspects, and the FBI’s forensic team can assist with DNA analysis, digital forensic evidence and geolocation tracking; resources that may not be available to local authorities,” Pack explained.
Pack said that in supporting the Konanki family, the FBI’s Victim Services Department is likely to have been engaged to the family, providing them with an investigation update to guidance and support for handling foreign law enforcement in the event of this crisis.

Police say Konanki is Loudon County, VirginiaDuring the school’s spring break, head to Riurepública Hotel in Punta Cana with five other people from the University of Pittsburgh, which begins on March 2 and ends on Sunday.
The Dominican National Police said in a statement that she was last seen on the surveillance camera and five other people entered the beaches of the five-star resort.
The footage obtained by Noticias Sin shows that Konanki appears to be close to a man as the group heads towards the beach.
This is the last time authorities have tracked Connaco before Virginia residents went missing.
Nicole Parker, a former FBI agent and Fox News contributor, shared her analysis of the Connata search and said she believes the most important thing as an investigator is to identify the last person she has met.
Parker said that since investigators own Konanki’s phone and money bag, they will comb all that information and figure out everything they could about the man she had last seen.

Authorities did not name any suspects in the ongoing investigation. On Tuesday, Dominican National Police said it was “a reexamination of targeted people who were at the distance of their victims when they disappeared.”
