Brazilian police arrested at Lady Gaga Rio concert with 2 million fans 200,000 fans at Lady Gaga Rio concert 2

Brazilian police said on Sunday that two people were arrested on suspicion of detonating a bomb at a free Lady Gaga concert in Rio de Janeiro.

Saturday’s event attracted about 2 million fans to Copacabana Beach.

State police in Rio de Janeiro said they had worked with the Justice Department to undermine the attack allegedly by a group that spreads hate speech against the LGBTQ community. Police said the group tried to radicalize and recruit teenagers to attack using Molotov cocktails and simple explosives.

“The plan is seen as a ‘collective challenge’ with the goal of making a name for itself on social media,” police said.

Authorities say they arrested two people linked to the planned attacks — allegedly illegal weapons possession charges in southern Rio de Janeiro and a child pornography charge in Rio de Janeiro.

The concert was the biggest performance of Gaga’s career.

“Tonight, we are making history,” Mrs. Gage told a screaming crowd. “Thank you for making history with me.”

A spokesman for Lady Gaga told CBS News that the team learned about the alleged threat through media reports.

“There were no known security issues before and during the show, and no communication between the police or authorities regarding any potential risks with Lady Gaga,” the spokesperson said. “Her team worked closely with law enforcement throughout the planning and execution of the concert, and all parties were confident in the safety measures taken.”

As we all know, the mother monster started the show after 10 p.m. locally with her 2011 song “Bloody Mary”. A cry of joy rose from the nervous fans who sang their shoulders on the huge beach.

Concert organizers said 2.1 million people participated in the show, which was funded by the city of Rio to revitalize the economy. Rio City Hall said in a recent report that the show should bring at least 600 million reais, about $106 million.

For Gaga, acting is also an opportunity to promote her upcoming launch. “Mayhem Ball” tourfeaturing songs from her latest record chaos. The album ranked No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it was released in early March, including new perspectives like “Abracadabra”.

“Today was the best day of my life,” said designer Manoela Dobes, 27.

Last year, Madonna also turned Copacabana Beach into a huge dance floor.

The massive performance is part of the City Hall’s efforts to promote Carnival and New Year’s Eve celebrations and the upcoming month-long St. John’s Day celebrations.

“In the previously thought of low season, it brought activities to the city – filling hotels and increasing spending on bars, restaurants and retail, bringing jobs and income to the population,” Osmar Lima, the city’s economic development minister, said in a statement released last month.
