Amazon just did something crazy. The new 2024 MacBook Air with M3 chips dropped to $799 and I’m working on making a reason not to buy it. Spoiler: I can’t. Apple is not known for discounts on fresh (ISH) issuances, so seeing this price drop feels like some sort of malfunction. Normally, you’ll look at it for $1,099, but Amazon’s price is $200. Then, there is an additional $99 coupon at checkout, bringing the total discount to $300.
The M3 chip is a real advancement that makes it the fastest and most effective MacBook Air to date. Apple has been hyping up its future AI-driven features, and the M3 chip is designed to handle them. You can also get 16GB of memory, which is important because it means that this thing doesn’t start to lag the second second and you open some too many chrome tags. The 13.6-inch liquid retina display is famous for the same stunning screen as Apple and supports a billion colors and real tones to make everything look clear. Battery life is ridiculous, too.
