Retroid says it will accept limited pocket mini returns due to screen zoom issues
After months of reproducing bag mini buyers, Retroid opens a new return window for those seeking a refund after reporting issues with the game while using the shader. But there are limitations. The China-based company said in a discord message that the return window will only be open from March 8 to March 14, with only 200 overseas returns to be accepted and customers will have to pay for shipping. As comfort, the company is offering “$10 stackable coupons for the upcoming Retroid Flip2 and Retroid Classic” to all owners.
Retroid Pocket Mini owners have been trying it out shortly after the device was released last fall. As “The shader problem is only noticeable when applying a specific CRT shader to an old game. In this case, the user can expect to see a misplaced scan line, uneven pixels, or slightly distorted image”. After several round trips, the company recently said the problem could not be solved, linking it to the screen driver, Discord screenshot by recover exhibit.
Before the latest update that was reproduced, some buyers said their return request was denied. “Please note that this is a huge and expensive effort for our team and we expect there will be a lot of reward requests outside of screen-related issues,” the company said in a discord message this weekend. In addition, it added: “For users who do not rely on CRT shaders or pixel grid effects, we encourage you to keep this opportunity for those who really need it.”
