Trump and Musk hold Tesla ads at the White House

U.S. President Donald Trump and CEO Elon Musk held a Tesla ad on the White House lawn. He also mistakenly called boycotting electric vehicle companies “illegal”.
On Monday night, Trump announced that the next day he would “show” in his close ally Ally Musk in response to the company’s tormented price. Tesla parked five of the cars in front of the White House on Tuesday morning to create a personal showroom for the president.

Accompanied by Musk and his son X, Trump promoted Tesla’s cars while continuing to praise his billionaire CEO. The president also revealed that he had previously purchased Tesla Cybertruck for his teenage granddaughter Kai.
“I have a lot of information [about Tesla’s cars]including the price,” Trump said, saying a few pages of notes he said about Tesla’s dedication. “I want to make a lot of money here. ”
Still, Trump said he would pay the full price for his new car. He ended up choosing a red Tesla model S lattice, which retails for about $90,000 after Musk said it was a model he drove himself.

Trump further resolved recent protests outside the Tesla showroom in the U.S., some of which resulted in vandalism and property damage, saying he marked violence against dealers as “family terrorism.”
“They are hurting a great American company,” Trump said. “When we catch them, those people will go through a big problem…you do to Tesla, you do to any company, we will grab you, you will go through hell.”

In addition to promoting Tesla, Trump also praised Musk himself, calling him an “incredible patriot” and celebrating his work at the Department of Efficiency (Doge).

“He never asked me for help when I knew him,” Trump claimed.
This is in stark contrast to Trump’s previous statements to Musk in 2022, when he called the billionaire a “nonsense artist” and claimed he sought help in many of his subsidized projects, whether it’s driving an electric car long enough, a driverless car, a crashed driverless car or a rocket with nowhere to go. ”
“I can say, ‘bend the knee’,’ he would do it,” Trump released to the truth at the time, noting that without government subsidies, Musk would be “worthless.”

Although the latter’s history is a vocal critic of electric vehicles, it seems that Musk and Trump now have much less hostility between Musk and Trump. Trump reiterated his incorrect statement in the media on Tuesday that he “ends electricity” [vehicle] Authorized, “and praised Musk for not calling him to complain.
There has never been any law in the United States that requires drivers to switch to electric vehicles. But it does have incentives to adopt, and that’s what Trump eliminates. Trump also suspended $3 billion in funding to use the U.S. electrical vehicle charging network earlier last month.
Keeping Trump’s new Tesla charged isn’t his problem, though. Trump doesn’t actually drive by himself because the U.S. president is not allowed to drive on public roads for safety reasons. Instead, the president said he would leave Tesla at the White House for staff to use.

Tesla has had the worst trading date since Monday September 2020, with its stock falling more than 15% to close at $222.15. In response, Trump announced his support for Musk that night and his intention to buy Tesla.
“[T]Like they often, his radical left LUNATICS attempted to illegally and collidedly resist one of the world’s great automakers, and Elon’s “Baby” to attack and harm Elon, and everything he represents. ”
In the United States, it is not illegal for consumers to boycott companies. If a group of competitors jointly agree not to conduct business with the company, boycott may be illegal, but such restrictions do not apply to individuals. Under U.S. law, people can choose whether to patronize a business and can decide not to act as a protest. This is protected by First Amendment rights to freedom of expression.
Tesla’s stock recovered nearly 4% on Tuesday after a decline on Monday, but the overall trend of the company’s stock price is still falling. Although Tesla has gained a surge in its win after the Trump election, its share has been falling since the inauguration and has eliminated all of that gains.
Tesla’s profits fell 70% in 2024 in the fourth quarter, with its sales falling worldwide. It is reported that the driver rejected the car due to the driver’s association with Musk, and even the price of used Tesla fell. Musk said on Tuesday that Tesla still intends to double its U.S. production in the next two years.
