Trump’s DEI keyword Crusade hits the country’s defense archives

The Department of Defense has tagged thousands of archive material and deleted posts in line with President Trump’s crusade against any mission similar to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), including clearly unrelated materials and keyword search markers.
The material removed in government websites and social media posts contains a senior history of World War II, as well as (at least) 26,000 archival images, including information about the recipients of the Medal of Honor, all female crew members and U.S. military aircraft, including information about the recipients of the Medal of Honor, which was an atomic bomb in a Japanese city in 1945.
US Immigration Services Want to Censor potential civil social media
Clearance aims to eliminate mentions related to specific military-related minorities – social media posts and website pages that commemorate historic events, but also include diversity and risk being removed from office. Keyword searches for “dei” content is not an effective system, i.e. APs found in surveys whose posts and image titles use the word “gay” (used to specify historical aircraft, or even veterans’ last name) are marked with deletion in the database. Information about Army Legion biologists studying the weight, size and gender of fish are also marked, as well as seemingly random photos titled “Deadlift competitors raise big pounds through pounds” and “Minnesota brothers reunited in Kuwait.” Although some photos and pages have been deleted, some photos have been retained and it is not clear what is under the reason for the deletion of the department.
Mixable light speed
An insider told the Associated Press that the removal could result in all military branches deleting 100,000 images and posts, but some workers are trying to save and screenshot before the material disappears. “We are happy with the rapid compliance of the entire department instruct Pentagon spokesman John Ullyot said DEI content was removed from all platforms. In rare cases, content is deleted, which is removed from the clear overview scope of the directive, and we guide the components accordingly. ”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave a dismissal order in February, who recently cleared the DEI mentioned and planned plans and ordered the military to cancel and ban transgender Americans, expanding the exclusion laws set out under Trump’s first term. The Ministry of Government Efficiency (“Doge”) led by Elon Musk recently believed that canceling the Ministry of Defense DEI contract would save $80 million in government spending. The agency has been recently accused of exaggerating expected savings data.
