Trump-Zelenskyy’s yelling festival can not only disband Ukraine’s support, but also disband our European Union

Most media blame Donald Trump for a shocking yelling game, which led to him kicking Volodymyr Zelenskyy out of the White House.

The result is to continue fighting and dying in the Russian-initiated invasion, the journalists and commentators said, even as Trump continues to promote his good relations with Vladimir Putin. It was the Kremlin leader who was the dictator, not Zelenskyy, but Russia rather than Ukraine, who started the war to restore its smaller neighbor to the status of Soviet satellites – as Trump knows.

There is no doubt that Trump, played by JD Vance, lost his temper in the Oval Office, derailing the meeting, leaving behind lunch ready for their team to be eaten by employees.

But Trump also shows that he will not be able to reach a deal with Russia if he keeps attacking his leaders (he is obviously reluctant to do it given their history, including the Helsinki Summit).

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy demanded security assurances seeking, saying Putin had a history of breach of the agreement, from the 2014 invasion of Crimea to the brutal war, including the brutal war launched three years ago – including intentional targeting civilians.

But Zelenskyy has a job: meeting with Trump and signing the expected rare mineral agreement. He completely failed. He grabbed the bait. Although he may have received some sympathy – Britain and France embraced him and promised to send peacekeeping forces after reconciliation – the Ukrainian leader may irreparably damage his relationship with Trump.

The president said bluntly that Zelenskyy wouldn’t have “cards” to play without our aid – but he was right.

I had a long “media buzz” interview with Donald Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt, setting off with White House fireworks. She is very good at pushing back.

Decrypting Donald Trump: How his rhetoric sends different messages

She told me that Zelenskyy was “oppositional, frankly, he was rude. He fought the U.S. vice president.” (Instead, that’s kind of.) “He interrupted President Trump again and again.” (It’s true.)

“President Zelenskyy doesn’t even agree to the ceasefire. If you want to end the war. How do you disagree to stop the fight? You have the greatest deterrent in President Trump’s Oval Office and you need to trust his ability to stop Russian aggression.”

Well, Zelenskyy doesn’t trust Trump because he thinks the ceasefire will lock in Russia’s territorial gains. But what choice does he have?

What shocked me the most was that if the meeting was held behind closed doors – the usual venue for the final agreement, I could not imagine such a collapse. So while I support news access, it’s a 40-minute news issue that can form a conversation.

So I asked Leavitt why Trump ended things by declaring “Great TV” and he held a meeting in public.

“Because President Trump is the most transparent president in history,” she replied. “As he said, it’s great for cameras, because the American people and the world are able to see behind the scenes of the president and his team negotiating with President Zelenskyy’s team.”

Will Zelenskyy be prepared for peace as Trump said? Who knows until now? But this is a huge setback.

David Sanger, a senior foreign traffic correspondent for The New York Times, has the deepest large attractions.

What the president wants is “is normalization of relations with Russia. If that means rewriting the history of the illegal invasion of Moscow three years ago, abandoning investigations into Russian war crimes, or refusing to provide long-term security assurances for Ukraine, then Mr. Trump is willing to make the deal in his assessment of his intentions.”

Trump has been a NATO critic, Sanger suggests, fleeing the Atlantic Alliance that has flourished for 80 years.

The president “has no disguised that he believed the post-World War II system created by Washington was eaten in American power.”

For Trump, “This system allows smaller and less functional countries to take advantage of the interests of the United States, allowing Americans to pick up too many labels to defend their allies and promote their prosperity.

“Although his predecessors – Democrats and Republicans insist that the alliances in Europe and Asia are the biggest power multiplier in the United States, keeping peace and allowing trade to flourish, Mr. Trump sees them as bleeding wounds.”

Look, Trump is the first candidate in the United States to get us out of war. Many Americans, especially Republicans, have lost patience with the U.S. aid to Ukraine when they can spend money at home. I should add that aid is far from the $350 billion Trump has always claimed, but that’s a big deal.

At least rare mineral transactions will give the United States an economic motivation to support Ukraine and partially repay our country’s generous contributions.

However, I think the arguments that support Ukraine are much stronger. If Putin successfully dismembered a part of the country, he would be rewarded for the illegal invasion and his intentional brutality of bombing apartment buildings and railway stations.

Does anyone seriously believe that he will stay there? Isn’t Putin likely to attack another neighbor?

Trump’s approach with Russia at the expense of Europe is likely to be very popular. But if he sticks to this plan, the yelling in the White House may be remembered as a turning point in the Old World Order.

footnote: Zelenskyy said something stupid yesterday, proving Trump’s position that he is not ready to reach a settlement with Russia. Zelenskyy predicted that the end of the war was “still very, very far away.”

The president quickly realized socialization: “This is the worst statement Zelenskyy could make, and the United States won’t stand it for longer! … What are they thinking?” Trump later told reporters: “Now maybe someone doesn’t want to reach an agreement, and if someone doesn’t want to reach an agreement, I don’t think that person will last a long time.”

What are they thinking? I have no clues. This is obviously self-destructive.
