Multiple wildfires evacuated by Carolina forces, burn ban issued by South Carolina

Brush fire broke out in North Carolina and South Carolina on Saturday, forcing officials to order evacuation.
The North Carolina Fire Department told CBS News that the fire in Polk County, North Carolina, burned at least 400 acres and as of late Saturday night, parts were burned. He said the building could be in danger and officials will check for potential losses on Sunday morning.
Polk County urged residents along U.S. Route 176 between the towns of Tryon and Saluda, warning on Facebook that the fire was spreading rapidly as multiple fire departments worked. Tryon and Saluda are about 40 miles south of Asheville.

The county said displaced residents could shelter at Polk County conference venues in Columbus.
In South Carolina, the Horry County Fire Rescue Company ordered the evacuation of residents from several communities in the Carolina Forest, about 10 miles west of Myrtle Beach, as crew members work to load wildfires.
“The crew is continuing to carry out fires near the Carolina forest,” the fire rescue team said on Facebook. “Horry County is monitoring weather forecasts and is ready to adjust the conditions that the course should be in our life safety and property protection programs.”

Rep. Tim McGinnis, Republican of South Carolina, said on Facebook that two planes and a Blackhawk helicopter poured water on the fire on Sunday morning, citing an update he received from State Forester Scott Phillips. The tractor is also helping to dig thread around the fire to help curb it.
Republican South Carolina Gov. Henrey McMaster announced that the statewide ban is now in effect due to dangerous wildfire conditions. He said anyone who fired fire in the state would go to jail as firefighters siege several firefighting across the state.
