Zelenskyy says Trump administration criticism of Ukraine puts them in consistency

At an explosive Oval Office press conference with President Donald Trump on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his frustration with the administration began after a series of controversial comments five weeks after Trump’s inauguration.

“It’s not about [being] Crazy,” Zelenskyy told Fox News’ chief political host Bret Baier in a “special report.”

“[When you hear] The president, vice president or someone or senator – ok, big politician – for example, when they say Ukraine was almost destroyed, our soldiers ran away, they were not heroes, Ukraine lost millions of civilians, his president was a dictator.

Zelenskyy said it after spitting with Trump, Vance said Dustup is “not good for both sides”

“The reaction is, where is our friendship between Ukraine and the United States?”

Zelenskyy said it is important that Ukraine, the United States and Europe maintain a good partnership in the face of the invasion of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But when asked if he thinks he should apologize for the intense discussions that broke out in the Oval Office, Ukrainian leader said “No.”

“I respect the president, I respect the American people,” he said. “I’m not sure we’re not doing well.”

Zelenskyy believes that a thorough discussion of important issues needs to be made and warned Trump: “Don’t believe Putin.”

Zelenskyy again pointed out that the security guarantees of the explosion in the Oval Office on Friday were not a problem he ignored because the threat of another Russian invasion was too great.

Zelenskyy also reiterated that he would be willing to resign as long as Ukraine is awarded a NATO membership.

Trump began pushing for the idea that elections should be held in Ukraine after talking to Putin earlier this month, claiming that Zelenskyy has little support among the Ukrainian public.

But according to the Ukrainian constitution, it cannot hold elections during wartime.
